Liliana Luna
Geophysicist Intern
Recent graduate of Engineering in Geophysics from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional (IPN), Mexico. During her time at the university, she started volunteering with the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), became president of the student chapter of her university, and represented Mexico at the AAPG Leadership Summit, where she highlighted the impact of the achievements made during her term; Such as strengthening the connection between the university and industry, increasing student participation in workshops and conferences, as well as the special recognition by LACR in the event "the impact of women in geosciences", in addition, she achieved a 45% increase in the number of members.
In addition, she has volunteered her time at events such as Energy Opportunities and AAPG's International Conference Exhibition (ICE). As well as being part of the team that represented the IPN at the AAPG Imperial Barrel Award (IBA) in 2022, taking on the role of seismic interpreter.
Joined GeoLatinas as co-leader in Mexico, coordinating projects to promote geoscience among children, students and professionals.
Currently, she is the Student Chapter Liaison at AAPG LACR, leading a team of 5 people that promotes the active participation of student chapters in the region. In parallel, she is working on a research project as a seismic interpreter.
