Mariela Rutherford

Mariela has over 15 years of experience in different areas within the Oil industry. She graduated as a Geophysical Engineer in Venezuela from Simon Bolivar University and got a master degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. She worked as Helpdesk Supervisor for Schlumberger. She learnt Petrel software and then became the teacher for the Geophysical modules in Petrel. Mariela also worked as an onsite Support person for HESS and Statoil in London to support the staff who were working with Petrel. She also worked as a Technical Sales Representative for Seismic Micro-Technology in London.

She demonstrated SURE (reservoir simulator software) for reservoir engineers in the Oil industry (big and small) covering Europe, Africa, and Middle East. She got involved in the design and creation of SMT’s booth for different international shows and exhibitions. She has experience in providing technical support for several Oil companies with a focus in an excellent customer satisfaction. Geophysics, Seismic Well Tie and Geology are some of the courses she has been teaching in the past. She gave presentations face to face with Schlumberger’s clients in the Oil industry. She enjoyed been involved in conferences around the world promoting technology and software for oil exploration.

Most recently Mariela has been working with Turnkey Regeneration Limited in the UK as Admin and Project Coordinator. Turnkey Regeneration is a consultancy specializing in soil and groundwater contamination and remediation for the environmental industry. She is involved with technical review for several projects, human resources tasks, quality control and invoicing to all Turnkey client base.
